Tired of staring at a bobber all day for those nymph focused spring fish? We’ve got good news for you. Our fish on the Kootenai are shaking off their subsurface blues and starting to look up. There’s not much we love more than fishing big foam dries and watching fish do somersaults to sink their teeth into them. It seems like we spend all Spring trying to force feed sluggish fish on top, but lately, something’s changed. Summer is coming. Got water-walkers?…

Pre-runoff trips are in the books. Mid-late April Kootenai River fishing was outstanding and the May trips on the Missouri River were lights out with low flows. Thanks to all who joined us.

Snowpack sits at 210% on June 1 for the Kootenai River basin. We are in full release mode out of the dam and tributaries are pumping. We will now wait patiently for tributary flows to get fishable.

Countdown to tributary time and some of the finest fishing of the year. If you’re getting twitchy to set the hook and you’re close enough to hop in the boat with a few days notice, let us know! We will keep you in the loop. We’ve already seen our first Silver striped sedge of the season, trout snouts aren’t far behind.
