Getting There
The bad news? We aren’t that easy to get to. The good news? We aren’t that easy to get to! It may take a little extra elbow grease to make a trip to Kootenai Canyon country, but the reward is well worth it: this is wild trout fishing in a truly beautiful and uncrowded corner of the world. Read on for more about how to plan your trip.
We are based in Troy, Montana. Our clients typically stay in or near Troy or Libby, Montana for upper floats, or Bonner's Ferry or Moyie Springs, Idaho for the lower river floats. Troy is the ideal midpoint to access all reaches of the river. The number of airbnb and vrbo rentals scattered along the river corridor is growing every year and caters to all tastes and budgets. There are also numerous hotels and several bed and breakfasts in the area.
The nearest commercial airports are Spokane, Washington (three hours drive to Troy), and Glacier International Airport at Kalispell (two hours drive to Troy). Airstrips that can accommodate private planes can be found in Libby (thirty minutes from Troy) and Bonner's Ferry (thirty minutes from Troy).
